foods high in calcium and the more bone mass you start out with, the less chance you will become osteoporotic. Below, I will provide you with a list of calcium rich foods so that you and your family can be sure to do everything possible to prevent osteoporosis.

I have divided the list of calcium rich foods into two categories, dairy and non-dairy. Everyone knows that dairy foods are the first thing we think of when we talk about foods high in calcium. However, large portions of the population have difficulty digesting dairy foods or have a dairy allergy. In fact, 90% percentage of Asians Americans and 75% of African Americans and Native Americans are lactose intolerant (unable to digest in dairy products). For these people, I suggest eating plenty of foods from the non-dairy list of calcium rich foods, or investing in a quality calcium supplement.
