Stop Smoking Laser Treatment

The stop smoking laser treatment is another promising option to help you quit smoking. A cold laser treatment (also called a low level laser treatment) is placed on several key locations. Typically, they are on the ears, face and neck and are similar points as used in acupuncture. It is believed that the laser helps the body to produce endorphins into the blood stream. Endorphins can be described at a natural pain killer and are released from the pituitary system’s glands.

Most laser clinics offering to help you quit smoking recommend 2-3 treatments within a two week timeframe. Some individuals will need additional follow-up treatment that may or may not be included in the program. Most clinics have money-back guarantees that say you quit smoking (but as with anything read the fine print and stipulations). The program cost associated with laser procedures range from $250 - $500 (includes the 2-3 initial treatments).

Those offering the laser procedure to stop smoking report success rates from 15%-40% over a 12 week timeframe. However, many critics state that the studies were done by those with a vested interest in the success of the cold laser treatments. Other studies are currently in the process but the results are not yet available. Since this is non-traditional method for smoking cessation, you should research in detail any laser clinic or practitioner before signing up for their program.

The stop smoking laser is not recommended for pregnant women or those with heart conditions or pace makers should also not use the stop smoking laser treatment. For possible other side effects, your medical history should be reviewed with the stop smoking laser clinic or practitioner prior to signing up for the cold laser treatments.

If you really want to quit smoking for good and you have tried other methods without success, the cold laser treatment could work for you!
